(7 customer reviews)

Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical camera glass has a good build quality and is designed to provide high resolution images. The lens has 16 elements in 13 groups, including aspherical and low dispersion elements, which help to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions. The lens coating is multi-layered and helps to reduce ghosting and flare. The lens has a wide aperture of f/2.8, which allows for faster shutter speeds and better low-light performance. The lens has an autofocus feature, which makes it easier to take sharp pictures. However, the lens can also be used in manual focus mode, giving the photographer more control over the focus. The lens produces a pleasing bokeh, which is the quality of the out-of-focus areas in an image. The lens is manufactured to a high standard and has a long lifespan. When your kit lens just won’t do Good upgrade from the kit lens versatile focal length, better piece of glass and build. Vibration Compensation (Image Stabilization) works really well when taking photos and helping them stay clear

Great Value Great lens. Really glad I bought it. It’s a little noisy, and doesn’t focus as quickly as the kit lens, but the images are much better, espesically at night.

Overall great lens, it is an APS-C lens so.. If you throw this on your full frame you should understand the drawback from that. But the only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of the noise it makes when focusing. It’s SO LOUD! and no one talks about it. So this lens isn’t recommended for shooting video with. It does pick up every subtle movement it makes. You’ve been warned.

A fast lens for portraits. My real life shooting tests between this lens and the Sigma indicate little difference in sharpness. Since this lens does not have a stepper motor it makes just the slightest noise when focusing. Both let s must be stopped down to at least 5.6 for best results if shooting landscapes. Center sharpness is good thoughout the apperature range.
