Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical IF

(7 customer reviews)

This camera glass has a wide range of focal lengths from 17mm to 35mm, making it a versatile photographic lens for landscape and architecture photography. It has aspherical lens elements that reduce distortion and chromatic aberration, resulting in sharp and clear images. The lens coating helps to reduce flare and ghosting, which can occur when shooting in bright light.

The build quality is good and the lens has a solid feel to it, making it suitable for outdoor photography. It can be used in both autofocus and manual focus modes, giving the photographer more control over their shots. The resolution is also good, producing sharp and detailed images.

There are alternatives to this lens on the market, such as the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM or the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR. However, the Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical IF lens is a mid-range option that provides good value for money.

In terms of manufacturing time, it was released in 2003 and has been discontinued, but it can still be found on the second-hand market. Overall, this lens is a good option for photographers looking for a wide angle zoom lens with good optics, build quality, and resolution.

Positives:
– The overall build quality of the Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical IF camera lens is very good and even better than their Nikon 50mm f/1.8.
– The optical quality of the lens is excellent without the need for fancy testing, and it provides a good color match for Nikon glass.
– The value of this Tamron lens is great, especially when compared to the higher-priced Nikon 16-35 zoom.

Negatives:
– No negatives were mentioned in the original review.

Conclusion:
Based on the quality of this Tamron SP lens and its great value, the reviewer is likely to buy more lenses from the Tamron SP line in the future.

Nice lens The aspherical look is a lot better than a standard wide angle lens. Less distortion. Nice clean images coming from my 6D. Seems to focus ok. I like that it’s 2.8, gives me more light than the alternatives, and it’s cheap. Good buy

Great wide angle zoom lens The lens provides excellent quality pictures. It works for both DX and FX digital cameras. This lens is fast and the image quality is excellent. At a significant lower price than nikon, it’s a great bargain without sacrificing quality. Superb lens and highly recommended.

FANTASTIC!!! This is a fantastic lens. I read reviews on it before buying, and I believe they seriously understate it. The build quality is great. It is surprisingly sharp and fast at 17mm. Nice action. Internal focus is very nice as the lens doesn’t move and gyrate as it focuses and the front element remains motionless. Solid feel in the hands. Last but not least SIX YEAR MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY . . . WHOA!!!!!

Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD AF I have found the Di version of this lens to work very well with my D70s and D200. The lens is quite sharp, I can’t tell the difference in the end result between this lens and my friend’s Nikon 17-35 f2.8. If some day I get the full frame Digital Nikon body the lens will work on that as well. Great deal for the difference in money between this and the Nikon version. I think this one is a keeper. 🙂

Tamron 17-35 DI IF Zoom Overall build quality is very good: Better than my Nikon 50mm f 1.8
Optical quality is excellent. No fancy testing, but I am well pleased. Good color match for Nikon glass
Value: I was thinking of saving for the Nikon 16-35 zoom. This caught my eye and was much lower in cost.

If this is the kind of quality found in Tamron’s sp line of lenses, I will likely buy more
