Sigma DN 19mm f/2.8

(7 customer reviews)

The Sigma DN 19mm f/2.8 is a camera glass that offers a wide angle view. It has autofocus and can be used with aps-c cameras. The lens has 7 aperture blades which help to create a circular bokeh effect. It is a lightweight lens, weighing only 160 grams and has a 46mm filter diameter. The lens is also compact, measuring 45mm in length. The lens elements are designed to provide good resolution and the lens coating helps to reduce glare and ghosting. The manufacturing time of the lens is not mentioned. The lens has a wide aperture of f/2.8, which allows more light to enter the lens, making it a bright lens. The build quality of the lens is not mentioned.

Positives:
As someone who likes to experiment with vintage lenses, I was pleasantly surprised by Sigma DN 19mm f/2.8. Although it may seem like a cheap and plastic build, the lens is surprisingly well built and durable. The image quality is excellent, and the lens produces sharp and detailed images with minimal distortion. I also appreciate the lightweight and compact design, which makes it easy to carry around.
Negatives:
One downside of the Sigma DN 19mm f/2.8 is that it can produce some vignetting when used at its widest aperture. The autofocus can also be a bit slow and noisy, especially in low light conditions. However, these issues are relatively minor, and the lens overall performs well for its price point.
Conclusion:
Overall, I highly recommend the Sigma DN 19mm f/2.8 lens for photographers who want an affordable, wide-angle lens with good image quality. It may not be the absolute best lens out there, but it certainly offers great value for its price. If you’re looking for a versatile and easy-to-use lens for landscape, street, or urban photography, this is definitely a great option to consider.

Optical design

Full frame equivalent focal length is 28.5 mm. Has 7 aperture blades, mid-grade lenses usually have this amount of blades. Having rounded blades provides out of focus circle shape closer to a circle. Bright lens thanks to the high aperture value

Physical characteristics

Weights 160 grams so convinient to carry. 45 mm long, this small lens should be always in the camera bag. With a lens filter diameter of 46 mm you are one step from the next standard filter size, buy step-up ring and bigger filter but you can chose from plenty options.

best 19mm i ever had use it on A7Rii for lightweight travel , mountaineering backpacking where every ounce counts.
I use it in full frame mode (i have aps-c turned off) because this lens can give you approximately equivalent focal length of 21-22mm after cropping out dark corners. iT can give you wonderful sharp panorama using 19mm in a final ratio of 1:2 panoramic format. If you choose to use in APS-C mode you get about 28mm equivalent image. either way extremely lightweight sharp and fast travel lens and great value

Sigma 19 2.8 is a winner I own the Sigma prime lenses 30MM, 60MM and now the 19MM. The 19 is the older non art version. Same optics as the newer art version. The only difference is the rubber manual focus ring instead of the smooth aluminum ring on the art version.

Quality optics. Very sharp. I am using a sony a6300 and the auto focus is very quick. Manual focus also is smooth.
Photos are great. Very nice wide lens for indoor and outdoor use. Very good Macro lens.

This lens is not optically stabilized but because it is so wide at 2.8 and the 19mm fstop, it does not really need stabilization. It makes a great video lens for close up or wide angle use. I use a power gimbal stabilizer for videos most of the time but when out in the field and not having it with me, the 19 can do in a pinch.

I highly recommend this lens. Great value and great sharp photos makes for a very happy me.

Excellent product Comes with a transport “case”, a “sun visor” dont know the tecnical term..image is sharp and it focuses very close (10-15 cm). Overall good quality, tough in my 4 days of use it once refused to open… had to disconnect it and reconnect but it works very well.

Sigma 19mm f/2.8 ART DN Lens with Sony a6300 mirrorless camera It is a “fast lens” thanks to the f/2.8 maximum aperture range. I used it with my Sony a6300 mirrorless camera and the lens improved the quality of pictures taken inside a greenhouse, without the additional flash light that I really hate to use when shooting close-up.

Worth the money Yes, it rattles when there isn’t power running through it. Yes, it’s a plastic build. Yes, there are many other lenses that are far superior.

But for the price? Absolutely worth it. I’m a lover of wide angle, and this cheap (but nice) lens is perfect for just leaving on my A6300 for quick access photos. The Auto-Focus is quick (although people complain of it’s constant searching in video, but thats why you shouldn’t auto-focus in video 😛 ).

Worth it. Buy it. Use it.
