Sigma DG APO 70-200mm f/2.8 EX HSM

(7 customer reviews)

This camera glass has a high-quality build and is made of several lens elements that help to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions. It has a multi-layer lens coating that helps to reduce ghosting and flares. The manufacturing time is long because of the high-quality materials used. It has a wide aperture of f/2.8, which allows for good bokeh and low light performance. The resolution is high, which means that the photos taken with this photographic lens are sharp and detailed. This lens is a good alternative to other similar lenses from other manufacturers. It can be used for different types of photography, such as portraits, sports, and wildlife. It has both autofocus and manual focus options.

I appreciate the opportunity to share my review of the Sigma DG APO 70-200mm f/2.8 EX HSM camera lens. As an enthusiast photographer with years of experience, I prefer vintage photo lenses, but this newer OS version of the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 is impressive.

Positives:
– Durable build quality: The lens has a solid construction and feels sturdy in hand. I had the previous generation of this lens, and it lasted me over 15 years, so I trust that this newer version will be equally robust.
– Versatile shooting capability: The f/2.8 aperture allows for shooting in low light conditions and achieving a shallow depth of field. The 70-200mm focal length range is ideal for portraits, sports, and wildlife photography.
– Image quality: The lens produces sharp images with beautiful bokeh. The optical stabilization is a great addition and helps to reduce camera shake.

Negatives:
– Heavy: The lens is quite heavy, which can be a challenge for extended periods of handheld shooting. This can be mitigated by using a tripod or monopod.
– Price: This lens is an investment and has a higher price point than some other offerings. However, considering its durability and image quality it is worth the investment.

Conclusion:
Overall, I am pleased with the Sigma DG APO 70-200mm f/2.8 EX HSM camera lens. Its solid construction, versatile capability, and image quality make it an excellent choice for enthusiasts and professionals alike. While it is a bit heavy and has a higher price point, the investment is worth it for those who demand high-quality results and long-term durability.

Meets my needs! I reviewed extensively, material on the web on two 70-200mm f2.8 lens with optical stabilization. The two I could afford were Tamron and Sigma. I saw fan boy videos and articles for both makes. And I watched videos by buyers who received bad copies of each. The quality of both could only be discerned by a pixel peeper from the more expensive Nikon or Canon. Then I shopped used. I can across an excellent value for a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 with OS. It works perfectly, so it was sold, not for being a bad copy, but someone wanted to move up. I almost exclusively take pictures indoors in very bad lighting with no flash and hand held. The Sigma does a very good job, with quick focus and sharp images on a Nikon full frame camera. It has been a great addition to my other lenses.

Excellent Lens Looked like and felt like a “bowce” out and about with my new 70-200! The first pictures were stunning to say the least. This is my first semi-pro lens and I could immediately see the difference between it and the pics I took with my variable aperture brand name lenses. The pics on this were crisper and the AF was much faster and quieter. It is a bit weighty and intimidating looking and so would not recommend it as a walk-around lens. I honestly fail to see the marginal value of the brand name lenses. This to me is more bang for your buck. I recommend it without reservation.

Best 70-200 f2.8 with image stabilization for the money Must have lens for enthusiasts like me, image is damn sharp 9.5/10 .Bokeh is one of the best out there super creamy and not distracting 10/10. Af is 9.5/10, built quality is 9.5/10, color and contrast is 10/10 in my own opinion. Best value for the money!

Nice Quality for the Money This is a great lens and a great value especially if you can pick up a good lightly used one. I’ve only owned it a short time but have taken some great shots.I bought it to take indoor wrestling pictures with my Nikon D90. These are from in a completely dark gym with a spotlight above the mat. Pics are at ISO 800, exp.1/200 sec., f2.8. This is a hobby for me. Just take pics for fun.

A solid work horse of a lens I owned a previous generation model of this exact lens and it lasted me over 15 yrs. I’m pleased with this newer OS version and I am hopeful this newer version will also give me 15+ years of use. So far, it’s amazing.
