(7 customer reviews)

The Sigma DG 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Macro is a camera glass that can zoom in and out to capture faraway or up-close subjects. It can be used with different camera brands using specific mounts. It has the ability to focus on small objects, making them appear larger. The lens has a coating that helps reduce glare and improve image quality. It is made with high-quality materials and has a sturdy build. The lens has a variable aperture, which means the amount of light entering the camera can change depending on the zoom level. The lens has both autofocus and manual focus options. The lens has multiple elements that work together to produce sharp and clear images. The manufacturing time of the lens is unknown. Overall, the Sigma DG 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Macro is a versatile photographic lens that can capture a wide range of subjects. There are other lenses available on the market that offer similar features and functions.

Sure, here is my enhanced review of the Sigma DG 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Macro lens:

Positives:
– The lens offers a huge zoom range, from wide-angle to telephoto, making it a great all-purpose lens for outdoor and travel photography.
– The image quality is impressive, especially for a lens of this price range. The colors are vivid and sharp, with minimum distortion and vignetting, even at the widest aperture.
– The macro feature is a nice addition, allowing you to shoot close-up details with decent sharpness and bokeh.
– The lens is relatively lightweight and easy to handle, despite its large size. The zoom and focus rings are smooth and well-damped, allowing for precise adjustments.

Negatives:
– The aperture range is limited, which can make shooting in low-light conditions a bit challenging. The maximum aperture of f/3.5-6.3 is not ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects or achieving a shallow depth of field.
– The autofocus can be a bit sluggish and noisy, especially in low light or with complex scenes. It may struggle to lock onto the subject, or hunt back and forth before finding the focus point.
– The build quality feels a bit plasticky and less durable than some of the high-end Canon or Nikon lenses. It may not withstand heavy-duty use or extreme weather conditions.

Conclusion:
Overall, the Sigma DG 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Macro lens is a great choice for a budget-friendly, all-in-one travel lens. It offers a versatile zoom range and decent image quality, with the added bonus of macro capabilities. However, it may not match the performance and durability of the top-tier lenses from Canon or Nikon. If you’re a serious professional or demand the utmost quality, you may want to consider investing in a higher-end lens. But for casual or hobbyist photographers, this lens is definitely worth considering.

Optical design

Has 8 aperture blades, with this amount of aperture blades you will be satisfied with the result. Thanks to the macro capabilities this lens can make tiny things look big.

Physical characteristics

With a lens filter diameter of 62 mm you are one step from the next standard filter size, buy step-up ring and bigger filter you may want to use a step-up ring and 67 or 77mm filter. Weights 460 grams so plan ahead, carry only if really necessary. 83 mm long, requires consideration if you want to carry in the camera bag.

Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 for Nikon This lens was made for both Nikon/Canon cameras (& others). The reason I bought it was to replace a similar model which a “ham-fistd” cousin thinking it was STUCK, twisted the focusing ring thinking it was the zoom AND promptly broke it. It still automacally focuses. On eBay I purchased another under $100 which seemed to snap into focus much quicker!!! This has been a workhorse and at that price is a real bargain on my Nikon D70 & D90. Anyone on a budget or JUST STARTING would be smart to buy this lens if they couldn’t afford a newer higher-priced model.

Sigma Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto 28-300mm I bought the Sigma Zoom lens 28-300mm, and immediately was impressed with the photos I could take from a far without disturbing nature, which it’s the reason why I bought it. I am not a professional by any means, but I would recommend this lens to any one still interested in film taking pictures. It’s not noisy at all and allows you to take great pictures. It was immediately delivered upon payment, looking forward to do business again.

Excellent lens for the outdoors The lens covers so much from wide angle out to tele-photo and what
I like best is that this large zoom compared pretty close to my collection of Canon “L” lens covering the same distance. An excellent choice for a single walk around lens.
