EXCELLENT MACRO LENS! I HAVE HAD MINE FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW. MY PREVIOUS LENS WAS THE SIGMA 105 2.8 OS NIKON VERSION. I WAS HIGHLY SATISFIED WITH THE 105, BUT NEEDED LONGER REACH AS SOME INSECTS TO TEND TO FLY AWAY AS YOU GET TOO CLOSE. I USE MINE WITH A 1.4 TC FROM SIGMA AND HAVE NOT DETECTED ANY IQ LOSS AT ALL. IT IS SHARP WIDE OPEN AND AUTO FOCUS IS DEAD ON EVERY TIME. IT IS A LITTLE ON THE HEAVY SIDE, BUT STILL LIGHTER THAN THE MIGHTY 180 2.8 OS AND THAT IS THE REASON I PURCHASED THIS LENS. MOST TIMES YOU CAN NOT USE A TRIPOD SO YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SHOOT HAND HELD. I ALSO OWN THE TAMRON 180 3.5 WHICH IS A WONDERFULL LENS AS WELL, BUT LACKS VIBRATION REDUCTION. YOU CAN NOT DEFINITELY GO WRONG WITH THIS LENS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT MACRO. BTW, IT IS AWESOME FOR PORTRAITS AS WELL!
