Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro

(7 customer reviews)

This camera glass has good resolution and is coated to reduce glare and improve contrast. It is made with high-quality lens elements that help to produce sharp images with good bokeh. The build quality is good, making it durable and long-lasting. This photographic lens is a good alternative to other telephoto zoom lenses available in the market. It is suitable for both autofocus and manual focus, giving you the flexibility to choose the focus mode according to your needs. The lens has an aperture range of f/4-5.6, which is suitable for shooting in bright light conditions. Overall, this lens is a good choice for photographers who want to capture distant subjects and macro shots.

Sure, here is my revised review of the Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro camera lens:

Positives:
– Versatile focal length range of 70-300mm, which is great for capturing a variety of subjects
– Macro functionality allows for close-up shots with a minimum focusing distance of 95cm
– Affordable price point compared to some other telephoto lenses on the market

Negatives:
– The lens is not as sharp as some other telephoto lenses, especially at the longer end of the zoom range
– Autofocus can be slow and noisy, particularly in low light conditions
– The build quality is not as sturdy as some other lenses, which can make it feel a bit cheap and plasticky

Conclusion:
Overall, the Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro camera lens is a decent option for amateur or hobbyist photographers who are looking for an affordable telephoto lens with some macro functionality. However, it may not be the best choice for professionals or serious enthusiasts who require top-notch image quality and fast, accurate autofocus.

Best lens in this price range This is the first lens I have purchased for my Canon that was not the Canon brand and I have found it very good for the price! It has a very good zoom for the price I paid and it worked very well taking pictures at the Grand Canyon. The only con’s I’ve found with this lens it that switching between the Telephoto and Macro positions can be frustrating. I sometimes need to switch to manual focus just to retract the lens to put it away. A small hindrance but it doesn’t ruin my excitement!

Extremely satisfied and would recommend to everyone!! I am very very impressed with this lens overall. It is built with very good quality. When you have it in your hand it doesn’t feel like a cheap piece of plastic. It actually feels very sturdy and solid. Pictureswise I think for the price the quality cannot be beaten. It seems like the picture quality gets a touch soft when your zoomed in at 300mm but it still takes a very good quality picture. Its a must have lens if your on a budget and want a good lens!!

Works well as a macro lens The Sigma APO DG Macro 70-300mm F/4.0-5.6 works well as a macro lens. Photos are clear and sharp. As a telephoto lens the lack of Image Stability increases the difficulty of getting clear shots when hand held. The F/4.0-5.6 requires quite a bit of light. Lens works best at F/8.0-F/11.0 when used as a telephoto. I have a Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS, so this lens works well for my introduction into macro photography.

Amazing lens for the price This is an amazing lens for the price. Pictures come out very clear when using a tripod. I have not tried freehand because all my macro shots are taken with a tripod.

Misrepresented Neither lens has a Nikon Mount; one is not APO, and fungus was not the major problem with these. The Advert misrepresented them, and I’m still trying to sort out exactly what they are.
