Sigma 300mm f/2.8 APO

(7 customer reviews)

This camera glass is made with high quality lens elements and coating, which helps to reduce flare and ghosting. It is a well-built photographic lens with a sturdy construction that can withstand harsh weather conditions. It has a wide aperture of f/2.8, which allows for a shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh. This lens is manual or autofocus depending on the camera body it is attached to. It has a high resolution, which allows for sharp and detailed images. The manufacturing time for this glass is not mentioned. There are alternative options available in the market, but this lens is a great choice for photographers who need a high-quality ultra-telephoto lens.

Sure, here’s my review of the Sigma 300mm f/2.8 APO camera lens:

Positives:
1. The built quality of this lens is excellent. It’s sturdy and feels solid in the hands.
2. The image quality is superb, producing crisp and sharp images even at f/2.8 aperture.
3. The autofocus is fast and accurate, making it easy to capture fast-moving subjects.
4. The lens is compatible with both full-frame and crop sensor cameras.
5. The bokeh is beautiful, creating a pleasant background blur that looks stunning.

Negatives:
1. This lens is quite heavy and bulky, making it difficult to carry around for long periods.
2. The price of this lens is high, making it unaffordable for many photographers.
3. The minimum focusing distance of 2.5m can be difficult to achieve in certain situations.

Conclusion:
If you’re a professional wildlife or sports photographer, this lens is a perfect addition to your gear. It produces excellent image quality and has a fast autofocus system which will help you to capture remarkable, sharp and crisp images. However, due to its high price and large size, it may not be the right choice for casual photographers or those on a tight budget. Overall, the Sigma 300mm f/2.8 APO camera lens is a worthy investment if you’re looking for exceptional image quality and performance.

Optical design

Has 9 aperture blades, with this amount of aperture blades you will be satisfied with the result. With high brightness value, it has the ability to collect light even in poor lighting conditions

Physical characteristics

Weights 2160 grams so it is a heavy lens, consider using its own lens bag. 225 mm long, with this size carry only if you use it. With a lens filter diameter of 30.5 mm you are one step from the next standard filter size, buy step-up ring and bigger filter but you can chose from plenty options.

Great lens The lens is sharp, but a bit heavy. If you are used to the Canon lenses, it takes a little bit tof getting used to, due to the focal length adjustment ring is outside of the focus adjustment ring, Other than that, I love the lens.

Sigma 70-200 mm DG OS HSM Sport lens is superb I really like the image rendering of this lens – at all focal lengths. I have found many uses for it, from wildlife photography to portraiture. I plan to also use it for astro-imaging.

As many have already pointed out, it is heavy. But it is not so large as to be ungainly. Overall, I am delighted with this lens and highly recommend it. I did a photo shoot with the Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di Vc USD G2 a couple years ago. From an imaging standpoint, it was good, but I’ve found the Sigma DG OS HSM Sport lens to be better.

Excellent in every way This lens takes some of the nicest pictures out of any lens that I have ever used. Overall color rendition is excellent, sharpness is superb, and the overall quality of the lens is top notch. Even with the weight of the lens, it is very well balanced so that it does not feel as heavy as it actually is. I would highly recommend Sigma’s new art and sport series lenses. They are excellent build quality with top of the line image quality for an unbeatable price!

Sharp, fast… and heavy 20+ years as a commercial photographer. This was a great buy, and absolutely comparable to the Canon EF 70-200 IS. Build quality is fantastic, and mounted on a R series camera with an adapter, it focuses and has perfect IS. Absolutely thrilled with this lens, other than the definitely heavier weight, and that the tripod collar does is not removable.
