Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX DG

(7 customer reviews)

This camera glass has a good build quality, it is well made and durable. It has 16 lens elements in 14 groups, which helps to produce sharp and clear images. The lens coating helps to reduce ghosting and flare, which can be a problem when shooting in bright light. The lens has both autofocus and manual focus options, giving the photographer more control over their shots. The bokeh, or the quality of the out-of-focus areas of the photo, is good, making it a good choice for portrait photography. The aperture is adjustable, which allows the photographer to control the amount of light that enters the camera. The manufacturing time is not specified, but it is likely that it took some time to produce this high-quality glass. Overall, the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX DG is a good alternative to other prime zoom lenses on the market.

The lens is relatively heavy and bulky, which may not be ideal for those who prefer lightweight lenses. Additionally, it is not the quietest lens, and the autofocus motor can be a bit loud and slow at times.

Great lens, probably best macro in price range. I bought this for my Sony Alpha 200 after doing alot of research and finding that for the money this lens is best in it’s particular class, and I was not disappointed. For taking nature shots of insects and flowers, this lens rocks, gets super close, has a buttery bokeh, it’s a fairly fast lens as well. I haven’t tried any portraits but this thing will probably do those great too.
The only drawback I can think of is it is noisy so if you are trying to sneak up on wildlife, this lens will give you away, heh. Other than that, definitely worth the purchase.

Good build quality and sharp image Lens takes high quality images in many conditions. It’s become my daily carry.

Minor autofocus issues where the lens will try and track to macro at distance shots. Still recommended.

Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro If you are looking for a lens for good close up photography, this one is great.
A little loud, but who cares…… I take photos in my reef tanks and they are coming out awesome with little to no changes to the camera settings.
