(7 customer reviews)

The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM camera glass is a zoom lens that can be used for aps-c cameras. It has a good number of lens elements and a lens coating that helps to provide a high resolution. It has a variable aperture that ranges from f/2.8 to f/4.5, which makes it a bright lens. The autofocus is quick and silent, thanks to the ring-type ultrasonic motor. The build quality is good, but it is a bit heavy, weighing 395 grams. The lens has a filter diameter of 67mm, and it is 88mm long. The out of focus areas of the photo, also called bokeh, is good due to the 7 aperture blades. This lens is a good alternative to other lenses in the market, and it is a good choice for those who want a lens that can provide a high resolution and a good bokeh. The lens is manufactured with care, and it is a good choice for those who want a lens that can provide a good image quality.

Review of the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM Camera Lens:

The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM camera lens is an aspherical lens that is designed for Nikon cameras. It has a maximum aperture of f/2.8-4.5 and is equipped with an Optical Stabilizer (OS) system that reduces blur caused by camera shake. However, I found that the autofocus system does not work with the Nikon D5300.

Positives:
– The lens has a decent build quality and feels robust.
– The OS system is helpful in getting sharp images in low light situations.
– The lens is lightweight and easy to carry around.

Negatives:
– The autofocus system does not work with the Nikon D5300.
– The lens exhibits significant distortion, particularly at the wide end.
– The image quality is only average, with softness in the corners and at the edges.

Conclusion:
Overall, the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM camera lens is an average lens that offers the benefits of an OS system and a fast aperture at a reasonable price. However, the lack of autofocus compatibility with the Nikon D5300 and the significant distortion and softness in the image quality are significant drawbacks. There are better alternatives available in the market for a similar price range.

good used one is great buy. Also this is Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 alternative Smooth Zoom and good build quality, good image quality for the price. OS is definitely plus to have steady shots. Also HSM enables to work with Nikon low end camera such as D40/D40x which do not have lens motor.

Great lens for the money if you have a camera that does not have auto focus Works really well but like many many others have noted, the F 2.8 only engages when your in the 18mm range if you go any further in it does not sit there. For what you pay for it the lens is worth it. I enjoy it but will prob be getting a Nikkor Lens down the road when I upgrade to a D7000. If you have a camera that already has Autofocus try a different lens.

very good inexpensive lens. Nice inexpensive lens. I like the fact that it doesn’t extend as you zoom. The barrel length is fixed. The 2.8 very rapidly goes back up asyou zoom. So it isn’t as useful as I had expected for fast lens work.
