Great price, great quality. This lens has some vignetting problems when shot wide open, but it’s not too noticibke, and easy to correct. Images also suffer from slight chromatic aberration and softening in the edges when shot at f2.8 but also not super noticible. Stop down to f4 and this lens is much sharper. I would highly recommend this lens to any aps-c users, especially if all you’ve ever used is the kit lens, this has that same range and much much better quality. The Canon and Nikon equivalents are way more expensive and not significantly better in image quality.

Really stunning hardware, but I had to return it So, if you are looking for incredible quality and great low light performance for photos in a zoom lens….you found your product. BUT, if you are looking for those same qualities to shoot video, even with an external mic (yes I tried this) not so much. The auto focus is loud, not deafening loud, but it becomes very prominent when recording video. I don’t use the in camera recording so I thought my Rode Mic would eliminate the sound…it doesn’t. If you are using a Lav or a boom, you will be fine, but if you are mounting the mic or using in camera (which nobody should), forget it. The auto focus is too loud to be usable.

One of the best and sharpest lenses. This lens is equal in sharpness to my two 30mm and 50mm f1.4 prime lenses. At f2.8 the sharpness matches both primes stopped down to f2.8. Honestly it’s an amazing lens and the autofocus is great through the viewfinder and Live View (DPAF) on my 80D. And Servo AF works fine as well since some were saying they had problems. I think if your camera has DPAF, you’ll find that this lens is amazing on live view for photos and videos even with continuous auto focus. Must buy!
Only issue i have is the focus ring moving with the AF but that’s an issue literally everyone else has. Also, the lens has pretty strong focus breathing, fortunately though, when at the wide end, it breathes down to about 15mm at the closest focusing distance so you still get the full 17mm focal length when zoomed to infinity, so you aren’t losing any focal range, you’re indeed gaining a few mm if focusing closer than infinity at the wide end of the zoom.

Best Lens…EVER!! I truly mean this is the best lens ever. If there is one lens that will be the most helpful to you wherever you go, this is it. I do a lot of photography at conventions shooting cosplayers so I have to work fast lots of times. It’s good to have the wide aperture to get the professional looking shots you need throughout the entire zoom range. The auto focus is whisper-quiet. It feels very solid in your hand; very well built. It’s a great upgrade to the standard “Kit” lens.

Good Lens I like the lens. It took a minute to get is focused on my canon 80d. It has produced some great pictures and works just as well if not better than the overpriced canon 17-55. I have used both and the pictures might even be better with the Sigma. I fell that canon is over pricing their products and you can by another brand most times at half the price that works just a well. I am very pleased with my purchase, and would recommend it to a friend.
