Quantaray 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7

(7 customer reviews)

Quantaray 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7 is a camera glass with a zoom range of 100-300mm that can be used for capturing distant objects. It has a variable aperture of f/4.5-6.7 which means the amount of light entering the lens will decrease as you zoom in. This lens has autofocus capabilities which means it can automatically focus on the subject you want to capture. However, it can also be used manually if you prefer to have more control.

The lens is made up of several glass elements that work together to produce a clear and sharp image. It also has lens coatings that help to reduce glare and improve contrast. The build quality of this lens is decent and it can last for a long time if taken care of properly.

When it comes to resolution, this lens can produce good quality images but it may not be as sharp as some of the more expensive alternatives. It also has a decent bokeh which means it can create a pleasing background blur.

Overall, the Quantaray 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7 is a decent photographic lens for those who want to capture distant objects without breaking the bank. It has its limitations but it can still produce good quality images if used correctly.

Positives:
The Quantaray 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7 is an affordable zoom lens that offers a decent range for telephoto photos. I have used this lens with my Sony a290 and have achieved sharp and clear shots. The build quality of the lens is sturdy, and I appreciate the smoothness of the zoom and focus rings. The lens also features a macro setting that allows you to capture images up close with a decent level of detail.

Negatives:
One of the main drawbacks of this lens is its variable aperture. The f/4.5-6.7 aperture range can be limiting in low light conditions, and the images may come out blurry or noisy. Additionally, the lens is quite heavy, which may cause fatigue during extended use.

Conclusion:
Overall, I think the Quantaray 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7 is a decent lens that offers good value for money. It is not a high-end lens, so it will have its limitations, but it gets the job done for a reasonable price. If you are an enthusiast photographer who wants to experiment with telephoto photography, this lens is worth considering. However, if you are a professional photographer who needs superior image quality, you may want to invest in a higher-end lens.

Beautiful Inexpensive Tele Use a TRIPOD for “tack sharp” images. Fast enuf for outdoor pics, use 400 to 640 Asa Iso.

I buy as many as I can, to sell to new photography students to get them excited about distant images.

Hi quality, low cost to own.

Minolta AF 300mm F4 APO HS G I bought the lens as a replacement to a Minolta AF 300mm f/2.8 APO. Whilst it was fairly quick in the AF department and the condition was excellent, it wasn’t complete and the AF motor sounded rough.

The lens is capable of capturing superb quality images with wonderful classic Minolta colours, but I had been spoiled with the 300mm 2.8, so sold it on. That said, I found my Sigma AF 100-300mm EX DG (IF) APO at least as good as the Minolta 300/4, and that being a zoom, was more versatile.

I would suggest that you take a look on the Dyxum website for owner reviews as I didn’t own it long enough to write a comprehensive review.

Quantaray 28-300mm F3.8-6.3 Autofocus on Sony A100/D5 This is the second lense of this type I have bought. Very fast in autofocusing on a Sony A100, extremely fast on the Minolta D5. Some of these have had problems focusing with Minolta and Sony Digital cameras. Contact the factory as they will correct this problem if you send it back. Excellent depth of field at distance but becarefull if you use in close, will defocus background and in some cases that is OK but if you want it to not do that the play around with the F stop and exposure and it will work out OK. Good lense for wildlife, as overall focus is quick on either camera. With the antishake I have been able to pull of offhand shots with good resolution. but that is me, maybe you will be better or worse, try it.
