Promaster AF 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 LD Aspherical (IF)

(6 customer reviews)

This camera glass has a focal length range of 28-200mm, making it a versatile photographic lens for different types of photography. It has aspherical lens elements that help reduce distortion and improve image quality. The lens coating reduces ghosting and flare, which can affect image quality. The build quality is good, and it’s a durable lens that can withstand regular use. It has an autofocus system, but it can also be used manually. The aperture ranges from f/3.8 to f/5.6, which is suitable for most lighting conditions. The resolution is good, and the lens produces sharp images with good contrast. The manufacturing time is not specified, but it’s likely that it has been in production for several years. There are alternatives to this lens from other manufacturers, but this lens is a good option for those who want a versatile lens for their full-frame camera. The bokeh, which refers to the quality of the out-of-focus areas in an image, is decent, but not exceptional.

Positive:

The Promaster AF 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 LD Aspherical (IF) camera lens is a versatile lens that covers a wide range of focal lengths, making it a great all-in-one solution for travel, events, and everyday photography. The autofocus is fast and accurate, and I didn’t notice any significant distortion or chromatic aberrations in my shots. The build quality is also decent, and the lens feels durable and sturdy in hand.

Negative:

One downside that I found is that the lens doesn’t perform as well in low light conditions, especially towards the longer end of the focal range. The maximum aperture of f/5.6 can cause some blurriness and noise in low light situations, so you may need to bump up the ISO or use a tripod to get sharp photos. The lens is also a bit heavy, which may not be ideal for those who prefer lightweight gear.

Conclusion:

Overall, I think the Promaster AF 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 LD Aspherical (IF) camera lens is a good buy for photography enthusiasts who are looking for a budget-friendly all-in-one lens that can handle a wide range of situations. It’s not the best lens out there, but it’s certainly a solid performer that won’t break the bank. Just be aware of its limitations in low light and size, and you should be able to get some great shots with it.

Optical design

Has 6 aperture blades, this number of blades are commonly used. Having rounded blades provides out of focus circle shape closer to a circle.
