Wow!! Wow, another winner from Minolta. And with the new 24 megapixel full frame A900 from Sony, I predict that this lens will become very popular. You see, it takes a really, really good lens to stay tack sharp all the way from corner to corner at 24 megapixels, and few lenses are able. The 6 megapixel Maxxum 7D was very forgiving in comparison, and many inexpensive zooms seemed quite good. But by 12 megapixels the weaker ones were starting to show – fuzzy edges, less contrast, etc. But this absolutely top of the line Maxxum prime lens just sparkled the whole way, and is still among the best lenses available even with the newest full frame dSLR. Get it, you won’t regret it!
